Villages RV Parking Guidelines
The Villages publishes guidelines for those Villages residents who own or rent a recreational vehicle. The guidelines provide recommendations related to parking your RV on or close to your Villages Property during the time you are preparing or returning from a trip. If your RV is of a size that can be parked in your driveway without protruding into the street, cones or reflectors are not necessary. However, if your RV does protrude into the street, you must ensure that you place cones and/or reflectors to alert other vehicles to provide clearance for the RV. Once parked at your property, you may keep the RV there for no more than 3 days (72 hours). If your RV will not completely fit in your driveway, it should be parked on the street directly in front of your home. The 3 day rule applies and you must park your RV in such a way as to allow emergency vehicles to pass as well as your neighbor’s cars. To alert passing vehicles be certain to place safety cones and/or reflectors in front of and behind your RV. Slides should only be extended on the curb side of the RV. If you own a villa, and you typically have a very short driveway. You may park your RV on the street in front of your villa. As with other properties, the 72 hour limit still applies. You must park your RV in such a way as to allow emergency vehicles to pass as well as your neighbor’s cars. If your RV has one or more slides, only extend the slides on the curb side to provide the maximum clearance for passing vehicles. Law enforcement departments in all three Villages counties, have indicated that they have no problems or issues if you park your RV according to guidelines using cones and reflectors as needed and provide clearance for possible emergency vehicles. Additionally, an RV may not be used as a “temporary living space” while parked in the Villages. Should you need additional space to accommodate guests, park your RV in one of the many nearby RV campgrounds during their visit, not at your home. If your guests came in their own RV and are visiting for an extended period of time, there are temporary parking spaces in the Villages Industrial Areas (Alhambra and Rolling Acres) where your guests may park their RV during their visit. The charge is $6.00 + tax per night. To make arrangements, you may contact the Villages Customer Service Department at 753-4508. Printable .pdf file HERE. |
